Celebrating the Bard's 454th birthday with way more than a week of Shakespearean shows, film, toasts, and, aye, cake!

 



Thurs., April 19


Mrs Shakespeare, Will's first & last love
Performance by Yvonne Hudson of her long-running solo show

Sewickley Heights Historical Center

St. George's Day 'Shakesbeer' & the Bard
The Leaning Cask Brewing Company, Springdale
 


Britsburgh celebrate St. George's Day at the Leaning Cask Brewing Company Co. with a wonderful afternoon of Shakespeare in the pub, tour of the brewery, beer tasting including 2 'Shakesbeer's brewed especially for St. George's Day. Join us and The New Renaissance Theatre Company to experience Shakespeare the way it was intended: with food and drink.

 

Your Shakespeare is FREE, but we will be passing around the hat for the actors - all money collected will go to help fund this summers NRTC programs. REGISTRATION REQUIRED for a TOUR of the brewery followed by BEER FLIGHT TASTING with proprietor and master brewer, Josh Lipke. Note: Registration at the door is limited to first 6 people only, so please register to save money and guarantee your attendance on the tour n' tasting!

A pastiche of favorites from Will's words by PSIP artists and Shakespeare colleagues. Birthday cake served at the end of performances.

National Theatre Live & Britsburgh happy hour - Julius Caesar


The Bridge Theater's ground breaking production recorded live at the National Theater.

The story: Caesar returns in triumph to Rome and the people pour out of their homes to celebrate. Alarmed by the autocrat’s popularity, the educated élite conspire to bring him down.

With food and conversation after the broadcast at Claddagh Irish pub, nearby at Southside works.

Performance run time: 2 hours, 15 minutes.
