The Britsburgh Commonwealth Dining Society is sponsoring a buffet-style dinner spotlighting the foods of several Caribbean nations that are members of the British Commonwealth of Nations. The Caribbean member nations of The Commonwealth are: Antigua and Barbuda; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Dominica; Grenada; Guyana; Jamaica; St. Lucia; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; and Trinidad and Tobago. Included in the evening is a presentation on Caribbean cultures and traditions.

*Presentation on Caribbean Cultures and Traditions by Dr. Gerald Boodoo of Duquesne University
Dr. Gerald Boodoo is Director of Duquesne University's Center for African Studies, which promotes the University's constructive engagement with Africa through teaching, scholarship and service and creates and encourages opportunities to experience the many rich African traditions and cultures from interdisciplinary and multicultural perspectives. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Boodoo holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and teaches Theology in Duquesne's McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts.
Programme:
6:30-7:30 pm - Buffet Dinner highlighting a sampling of Caribbean dishes with dessert
7:30-8:30 pm - Caribbean Cultures and Traditions presentation by Dr. Gerald Boodoo followed by Q&A and Conversation

All are welcome, but please register online in advance; no "at the door" admissions available.
Parking is available in Duquesne University's Visitor Parking Garage on Forbes Avenue. Event rates may apply. Take the garage elevator to the 8th Floor Campus level; the Duquesne Union is straight ahead. Take the Union elevator to the 6th Floor; Room 613 is to your immediate right upon exting the elevator. On street parking in the area (along Fifth Avenue near the PPG Paints Arena and the side streets between Fifth and Forbes Avenues) is also available, as is very limited public parking at meters (free after 6:00 p.m.) on campus. Be careful not to park in a permit-only metered space!
