BRITSBURGH FESTIVAL - A Very British Day Out II @ Linbrook Park

Starting this year, Britsburgh has introduced a series of Britsburgh Societies around a variety of themes. Current societies include the Britsburgh Art Society, the Britsburgh Beer Society, the Britsburgh History Society, the Britsburgh Performing Arts Society, the Britsburgh Literary Society, the Britsburgh Tea Society and the Britsburgh Travel Society—with more to come! A Very British Day Out II

Yes its back by popular demand and it's bigger and better than two years ago!

We will be staging a full game of Cricket starting at 11am, courtesy of The Pittsburgh Cricket Association.  We welcome those with who want to play to dust off your willow and join a team (There is space for 4 players). If you are interested please email events@britsburgh.com and put in the email title "Britsburgh Festival Cricket".A Very British Day Out will include a sports day, including the following events:

Activities

• All Day Long (11AM-6PM):

• Cricket match - From 11AM

• Try your hand at Rugby and Badminton

• Vintage Cars and Motorcycles

• Food Trucks and Indian Food

Take a look Art and crafts from the Commonwealth. 

Anything that Floats - Children's craft table (Noon-2PM; 3PM-5PM)

Registration/check in 1.00

• 1:30  Egg and spoon race

• 1:50  3 legged race

• 2.10   Sack race

• 2.30  Skipping race

• 2:50   Kids 100 m dash

• 3.10  Adults 100 m dash

• 3.30 Wheelbarrow race

• 3.50  Piggy back race

• 4.10  welly throwing (bring your own shoe, boot or welly)

• 4.30 medals

LIVE MUSIC: The Honeyriders (1PM-4PM) 

The Honeyriders will be entertaining you with songs from their new album - Pow! Crash! as well as British favourites.

Competitions:

• FANCY DRESS (Judging by, Mrs Shakespeare, will commence at 3pm): Dress up in something that is iconically British. Prizes will be by age group - 0-3; 4-7; 8-15; 15+

• GREAT BRITISH BAKING COMPETITION (Judging will commence at 2pm) - Prizes for Best Victoria sponge cake; Best Bakewell tart; Best scone; Best shortbread; Best gingerbread.  All food will then be sold to raise funds for Britsburgh.

Shakespeare:
A Visit with Will's Wife - Meet Mrs Shakespeare and mark her words about her life and love with the world's most beloved playwright. 
 

We will have Jaguars, Minis, vintage British cars and motorcycles on display - If you have one and want to participate please call Mark Fern on 412 576 1661 to register.

FACILITIES at Linbrook Park: Toilets; 2 picnic pavilions; kids playground, disc golf course

This is a big family day out, so please bring a picnic, chairs and blankets.  All are invited to participate in the sports day, and in particular children, although there will be adult races too :)
