Britsburgh Beer Society - Hike; family picnic & beer tasting

Britsburgh invites you to become a charter member of the new Britsburgh Beer Society. The Britsburgh Beer Society seeks to bring Pittsburghers together over a pint, a bite to eat, and a lively discussion of British and American beer tastes and styles. MEMBERS LOGIN FOR $10 REGISTRATION. Happy 4th July everyone!  After all that celebrating, why not join us on Sunday morning for a jaunt around the many trails of North Park followed by a Beer tasting and food starting at Noon at the Mars Shelter on Lake Shore Drive, North Park?

Programme:

• From 8am - Noon Pick one of several trails starting at various times during the morning (see below).  Aim to finish by Noon.

• Noon - 1pm gather and get some food

• 1pm - 2pm Beer tastings - FIVE beers to taste led by Tony "The Beerman" Knipling. These are Fullers London Pride, Victory Vital IPA, Heavy Seas Pounder Pils, Oskar Blues Pinner and North Country Stinky Hippie

• 2pm onwards Feel free to stick around and play some games or take some rays.  The Shelter is booked for us all day.

You only need to register adults (>21 years) that are planning to participate in the beer tasting.

A Britsburgh production in partnership with Vecenie Distributing Company. Enter a raffle to win a beer basket.

Due to park rules alcohol will not be permitted to be sold from the Shelter. The ticket price covers the tasting expert commentary, hire cost of the shelter and alcohol license. The beer tasting and food is free. We will be cooking hotdogs and burgers.  Feel free to bring your own alcohol and food to supplement ours and have a great picnic.  Bring picnic blankets, chairs and games.

Hike details:

1. ​​​​​Walk around north park lake (5 miles)

2. North park green trail (1.8 miles loop plus 1 mile to and from the Mars Shelter)

3. North park golf course loop (2.2 miles plus 1 mile to and from the Mars Shelter) - may be combined with Hike 2.

4. North park red and blue trails (8.5 miles)

Join our Britsburgh Beer Society and experience seasonal British beer and American beers in the style of British beer.  Its a great opportunity to network with fellow British beer lovers.  We support CAMRA - the Campaign for Real Ale. The Society plans to meet at least every other month.
